As Christians, the Bible is central to our journey of faith. It is the story of our people, our history, and of God’s work in the world. It is a beacon lighting the way for us to follow in the mission and ministry of Jesus Christ. In our Book of Common Prayer, we say “We understand the meaning of the Bible by the help of the Holy Spirit, who guides the Church in the true interpretation of the Scriptures.” (p. 853-4) We believe the scriptures to contain all things necessary to salvation. At Trinity we have different members with different beliefs on scripture, but all agree about the central role it plays in our common life.
We invite you to join us for our weekly bible study to explore this topic more.
Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: Grant us so to hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them, that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Savior Jesus Christ; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. –Collect for Proper 28, Book of Common Prayer
